Feline Health Costs

Long term health cannot be guaranteed. Anyone considering owning an animal for a pet must realize that there will be associated veterinary costs. During the life of an animal these costs may be substantial, likely may times the purchase price of the animal. If you think that the cost of a future health event will be financially unbearable, please consider postponing animal ownership.

On average a purebred animal will have higher instances of genetically related diseases than animals that come from a larger mixed gene pool. Selecting a purebred for your pet provides you with some assurances that you will get the bred-in physical characteristics and the temperament that attracted you to the breed. At the same time health care costs may be higher. You may want to consider pet health insurance.
